“If you don’t change what you are doing today, all of your tomorrows will look like yesterday.” - Jim Rohn
January 1 is just around the corner and is always the date on the calendar that signifies a fresh start. If you are like me, then this first day of the year is met with excitement, drive, and a list of goals for what you want the upcoming year to look like.
I wanted to pass on some year-planning information I recently heard online from Jesse Itzler.
The concept of Misogi. Jesse describes this as “doing something so hard one time a year that it has an impact the other 364 days of the year. Put one big thing on the calendar that scares you, that you never thought you could do, and go out and do it.”
Kevin’s Rule. Every 8 weeks, go on some type of adventure. Do something different. This leads to 6 mini adventures throughout the year.
Quarterly habit. Each quarter, focus on developing one habit. This leads to 4 new habits throughout the year
Each of these seems very achievable yet when put together, leads to an incredible and life-changing year.
In addition to these, one big change for me this year is switching a lot of my goals from things I want to “achieve” to things I want to “be.”
Be more Christlike. Be a better leader for my family and business. Be less attached to my phone.
As we head into the new year, lets be intentional with the goals we set and the year we plan. Stop messing around and take action to be who you are called to be. Push yourself and those around you and make 2024 your best year yet!
